Dr. Leigh Lewis
Why choose me? Simply put, I provide evidence-based, safe, and effective hormone therapy that won’t break the bank. I’ve treated hundreds of patients who have unnecessarily spent thousands of dollars on doctor visits, hormone tests, creams, pellets, and supplements when better, more affordable options are available through insurance or GoodRx. Most of my patients spend an average of $150 every 90 days without insurance for systemic and vaginal estradiol, progesterone, and testosterone—far less than the $500-1,000 per 90 days I commonly hear others are paying.
There’s so much misinformation surrounding perimenopause that it can be overwhelming and confusing. However, safe, effective, and affordable therapies do exist. Women already shoulder a “pink tax” for health-related expenses like tampons, fertility care, pain relievers, birth control, and pregnancy tests. While menopause medicine has become big business for many providers, my focus is on delivering quality care that’s accessible and reasonably priced. You deserve hormone therapy that works without the financial burden.
In my nearly 25 years of practice, I have been dedicated to addressing the complex interplay between hormones and physical health and mental well-being, with a specialized focus on perimenopause.
My journey began in community mental health before pursuing my medical training at Bastyr University, with a two-year post-graduate specialization in integrative women's health. This distinctive background allows me to bridge the artificial divide between physical and psychological health, offering comprehensive care for hormonally-mediated conditions. This focus led me to become a certified menopause specialist in 2011 through the Menopause Society and complete extensive postgraduate training in reproductive mental health with Mass General Center for Women’s Mental Health & Postpartum Support International.
I maintain a focused practice scope to provide specialized, integrative care that combines evidence-based treatments with personalized approaches. My philosophy centers on the belief that health is a journey of progress, not perfection, emphasizing patient education and empowerment in preventive care. I am an outspoken advocate for women’s health, specifically affordable care and reproductive rights, and have significant training in the care of all people with menopausal symptoms, including transgender men.
In my free time, I try to walk the talk: doing pilates & yoga, bike commuting, gardening, cooking, hiking with my dog, and traveling with my husband.
