Dr. Leigh Lewis

A pioneer in integrative women's healthcare, I bring a unique combination of expertise as the only physician dual-certified as both a Menopause Society provider and PSI perinatal mood & anxiety disorders prescriber. Since 2003, I've dedicated my practice to addressing the complex interplay between hormonal health and mental well-being, with a specialized focus on perimenopause.

My journey began in community mental health before pursuing medical training at Bastyr University, followed by a two-year post-graduate specialization in integrative women's health. This distinctive background allows me to bridge the often artificial divide between physical and psychological healthcare, offering truly comprehensive care for hormonally-mediated conditions.

I maintain a focused practice scope to provide specialized, integrative care that combines evidence-based treatments with personalized approaches. My philosophy centers on the belief that health is a journey of progress, not perfection, emphasizing patient education and empowerment in preventive care.

________________

I have chosen to limit my services to a fairly narrow scope to be able to provide truly specialized care in the symptoms & conditions related to hormonal impact on physical & psychological health in perimenopause.

In our society, medicine often creates an arbitrary boundary between general medical & psychological health care. In my practice, I work to bridge this gap in the care of women who are struggling with hormonally-mediated conditions which often present with a combination of both physical and mental symptoms.

I provide care in an integrative approach, offering the best of both evidenced-based treatments depending on patient preferences, goals, risk factors, & severity of symptoms. I have been certified as a menopause specialist since 2011 through the Menopause Society & have done extensive postgraduate training in reproductive mental health through Mass General Center for Women’s Mental Health & Postpartum Support International

In my free time, I try to walk the talk: doing pilates & yoga, bike commuting, gardening, cooking, hiking with my dogs, and traveling with my husband.
